Mac app
The installed app reads available system information and opens a local pseudo-terminal. Shell commands run on your Mac. Filesystem and process panels use local access; unavailable readings are labelled.
DNS and TLS checks contact the hostname you enter from your Mac. Port and listener checks stay on your Mac. Nearby scans browse Bonjour broadcasts on the local network. You can copy a diagnostic report. FFui does not send local shell output through the phone network tools.
Phone network tools
DNS and HTTPS checks send the hostname you enter to FFui’s Cloudflare edge endpoint. DNS lookups use Cloudflare DNS; header checks contact the public HTTPS host. Public IP and HTTPS round-trip checks use the request’s network route.
Subnet calculations and SHA-256 hashing run on your device. Hash input is omitted from command history. The browser tools require no account.
Nearby on iOS
The native iOS app asks for Local Network permission to discover Bonjour services advertised on the current network. It displays the service names and any host or port information that resolves. The discovered list remains on the device; the browser version cannot scan.
Nearby does not obtain a physical direction or distance for a device.
Browser permissions and hosting
Depending on the platform and what you choose to enable, FFui may read browser-exposed status such as online state, storage estimates, battery or permission state. Location is requested only through an explicit access flow. FFui does not record camera video or microphone audio.
The website uses fonts installed on your device and no third-party advertising tracker. Cloudflare may process standard hosting logs to deliver and secure the site.
